Brian Karem
Brian J. Karem is a White House correspondent and political columnist for Playboy, a CNN contributor as well Executive Editor of The Montgomery County Sentinel. He is an award-winning investigative reporter, writer, producer and best-selling true crime author, and former correspondent for America’s Most Wanted. Among his best-selling books are Above the Law, Innocent Victims, Shield the Source ,Warning Signs: A Guidebook for Parents: How to Read the Early Signals of Low Self-Esteem, Addiction, and Hidden Violence in Your Kids
He has been a guest on many TV programs including, “Your Call with Lynn Doyle”, “The O’Reilly Factor”, “Anderson Cooper,” “Hardball,” and several other national television shows as well as local television talks shows, also a guest speaker at college and civic functions. He was the 1991 recipient of the National Press Club Freedom of the Press award for refusing to reveal his sources in a story related to the killing of a police officer in Texas. Mr. Karem was the first American reporter allowed inside Pablo Escobar’s palatial prison and one of the first reporters to enter Kuwait City after its liberation during the first Gulf War.
He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland/Delaware/District of Columbia Press Association and treasurer of the organization beginning in November of 2016. He received his degree in Journalism from University of Missouri-Columbia
