Dr. & Mrs. Elias Ayoub
Elias Ayoub was born in Hammana, Lebanon and immigrated to the US as a teenager. He is a proud father to five and grandfather to three. After medical school, he completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and his career in medicine has been distinguished by his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes. He has tirelessly advocated for increased access to medical care in Lebanon, leading numerous medical missions across Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. His leadership roles in various hospitals, including serving as Chief of Staff, Appointment to Joint Commission Surveyor and California Quality Medical Institute, underscore his dedication to improving healthcare systems.
His influence extends beyond the medical field, and he has served in various nonprofit leadership roles, including as the Cofounder and Convention Chairman of the International Maronite Congress, Executive Chairman of the Holy Spirit University Board of Trustees, President and Board Member of the Holy Spirit University Foundation in the US, Board Member of the World Patriarchal Maronite Foundation for Integration Foundation, Board Member of the World Apostolate of Catholic Maronites, President and Convention Co-chairman of the National Apostolate of Maronites, President and Board Member of the American Lebanese Medical Association, National Mission Doctors Association Executive Board of Trustees Member, and President of the American Lebanese League California and Ohio Chapters. He was inducted into St. Gregory’s Vatican Order and is a recipient of the Medal of the National Order of the Cedar awarded by President Emile Lahoud, Patriarch Golden Medal awarded by Patriarch Rahi, National Catholic Doctor of the Year Award by Archbishop Gomez for humanitarian and missionary work that exemplify Catholic values and principles, Golden Massabki Brothers Award by the National Apostolate of Maronites, Heritage Award by the Lebanese Order of Maronites, and Ellis Island Heritage Award and honored by Mr. & Mrs. Mario and Lena Boustani.
Mireille Ayoub, born in Achrafieh, Lebanon, has dedicated her life to empowering her community and family. As a mother of five and grandmother to three, she has instilled values of family, education, and faith in her children. Having trained as a social worker, she led multiple medical offices and worked with underserved communities during her career. Mireille has played pivotal roles in numerous organizations, including co-founding the St. John Maron Church in Anaheim and serving as Co-Chairperson of the International Maronite Congress, National Apostolate of Maronites Convention, and Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon Centennial and Bishop Zaidan’s Elevation. Mireille’s contributions have been recognized through receiving the Order of St. Gregory by Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, the Golden Masabki Award, the Mother of the Year Award by the California Ladies Organization of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, and the Knights of Columbus Award. Her tireless work in cultural and community events, both in the U.S. and Lebanon, highlights her dedication and impact. She has inspired her children to a life of service to humanity while maintaining strong connections to their Lebanese identity; each of her children have founded nonprofit organizations dedicated to the Lebanese people.
