Hon. Manal Saab
Manal Saab is CEO of SGCS in Flint, Michigan. She joined SGCS 2 decades ago after spending 17 years in public health administration at the MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio.
Active in industry leadership and philanthropy at the local, national, and international levels, Manal has dedicated her adult life to service. She is an Emeritus Trustee of the Board of Governors of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and ALSAC, steadfastly supporting their mission for almost 30 years. She also serves as a Trustee of the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL), is a trustee and past Vice Chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and is the past Chair of the National Advisory Board for the Arab American National Museum. Her commitment extends to the American Druze Foundation Board of Trustees, where—under her leadership—the Foundation endowed a fellowship in Druze and Arab Minorities at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Manal was appointed by Michigan’s Governor as the inaugural Chair of the Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs (CMEAA) for the State of Michigan and is a founding member of the national professional advisory board of the Center for Arab American Philanthropy. She cofounded Lebanon Relief Project responsible for shipping $50 million worth of medicines and medical supplies to Lebanon following the August 2020 Beirut Port explosion.
The Lebanese American University (LAU) awarded Manal an Honorary Doctorate at its Centennial Graduation in 2024. She is also a recipient of the Lebanese Order of Merit, conferred by the President of the Lebanese Republic. Manal and her husband, Ghassan, are the first philanthropists from the Flint area to receive the 2010 Russell G. Mawby Award for Philanthropy—the highest philanthropic honor in the State of Michigan. Their recognitions further include the Rotary International Crystal Award; the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award from ACCESS; the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award from TAKREEM USA; and the American Task Force on Lebanon’s 2023 Issam M. Fares International Leadership Award. Both are also recipients of the U.S. Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
